Reviews a KiCad netlist against your rules.
Schematic Check turns the design rules you already keep in plain language into checks over a KiCad netlist, and reports what the electrical rules check (ERC) does not look for: decoupling on every power pin, pull-ups on shared buses, pins left unconnected, footprints that disagree with the bill of materials (BOM). Every finding names the nets and reference designators behind it.
Usage
Export the netlist from KiCad (File, Export, Netlist) and KiCad's ERC report into the project.
Write or adapt your design rules in rules.md, one rule per line in plain language.
Start Check netlist and attach the review to the change request.
What it produces
review/<board>-<date>.md: the ERC findings first, then every rule check with the nets and reference designators involved, the rule it breaks and how certain the check is.
Configuration
severity (default warn): the lowest level that appears in the review.
parts.csv (optional) maps part numbers to the footprints you expect, for the footprint check.
ercReport (optional): the ERC report to fold in; without it, the review covers the rule checks only.
Notes
It reads the netlist, the ERC report and your rules; the schematic is never edited.
This is a second pass, not a replacement for ERC: run ERC first, then check the rules ERC does not express.
Rules about high-speed routing are reported as notes for now, not as findings.
